How to write a job in your calendar
Put the street and postcode in the event's location field. Add the customer as the first invitee, or start a line in the notes with "Customer:". Put a UK phone number anywhere in the notes. Give the job a start time, because See You Soon doesn't plan all-day events.

Steps
Give the job a start and end time. All-day events have no start time, so there is no leave time to work out.
Put the address in the location field. Write the street and the postcode. Pick it from the suggestions where your calendar app offers them.
Name the customer. Add them as the event's first invitee, or start a line in the notes with "Customer:", "Client:", "Contact:", "Name:" or "Tenant:".
Put the phone number in the notes. In a UK format, starting with 0 or +44.
Where the app looks for the address
| Order | Where you put it | What the app does | Job detail says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Order1 | Where you put itThe location field, picked from the suggestions in Apple's Calendar app, or dropped as a pin. | What the app doesUses the exact spot the event carries. | Job detail says"From the event's location" |
| Order2 | Where you put itThe location field, typed. | What the app doesLooks the text up on Apple Maps. That needs a connection. | Job detail says"Looked up from the event's location text" |
| Order3 | Where you put itAn Apple Maps link, in the location field or in the notes. | What the app doesReads the place from the link. | Job detail says"From a Maps link in this event" |
| Order4 | Where you put itA line in the notes that holds a UK postcode. | What the app doesLooks that line up on Apple Maps. A label before a colon, such as "Address:", is dropped. | Job detail says"Read from the event notes" |
The phone number
- The app takes the first number in a UK format in the notes, starting with 0 or +44.
- These shapes are read: 07700 900123, +44 7700 900123, 0121 496 0000, (0121) 496 0000.
- With a name and no number in the notes, the app looks in Contacts under the same name. That needs contacts access.
- A UK number that can't take a text, such as a landline, gets Call and no Message.
What does not count as a job
- An all-day event.
- A cancelled event, or an event in the birthdays calendar.
- An event in a calendar not marked as a job calendar. Its time is still booked out in "Find a time" and "Coming up".
- An event in a calendar switched off under "Watched calendars".
What the app writes back
A job you save in the app is an ordinary calendar event. The title, the times and the location go in their own fields. The notes hold "Customer:" and the name, then the phone number, then your own notes.
A moved line reads Moved 15:40 to 16:15, not told or Moved 15:40 to 16:15, told 15:22. Where there is no text to send, it ends no text to send. Leave these lines in place, because the app reads them back.
Questions
Which calendar app should I use?
Any calendar app that syncs to the calendar on your iPhone. See You Soon reads the calendars set up on the phone, through iOS.
Does it read numbers from outside the UK?
Not from the notes. Numbers and postcodes in the notes are read in UK formats only. A number on the customer's contact can still be found by name.
What if I put the address in the notes and the location?
When the location field holds any text, the app doesn't read the notes for an address.
Do I need to change jobs I've already written?
Only if they show "No address" or no number. On a job with no address, "Add" or "Here" in the app writes the address onto the event for you.
