No account. No server. Your diary stays yours.

See You Soon has no account and no server of its own. It reads and writes your own calendar and contacts through iOS, and keeps only its settings on the phone. Route and address lookups go to Apple Maps. Your calendar and contacts may sync through your own accounts, as they did before you installed the app.

Kept on the phone.

  • Settings.
  • Support bookkeeping.

Leaves the phone, and to whom.

Travel times, address lookups and address suggestions
Apple Maps
Support products
the App Store
Texts you send
the iPhone's Messages app

Everything else the app writes goes into your own calendar or your own Contacts, where you can open it and read it.

How it works

  1. Nothing to sign up for. There is no account and nothing to sign in to.

  2. Your calendar and contacts are the database. Jobs you add are saved in your calendar. Customers and suppliers you add are saved in your Contacts.

  3. Each permission is asked for by the screen that needs it, after the app's own explanation. Calendar is the only one the app must have.

  4. Requests go through Apple. Travel times, address lookups and suggestions go to Apple Maps. The support options use the App Store.

What it needs

  • Full calendar access. The other permissions are optional.

What it doesn't do

  • It keeps no copy of your jobs or customers.
  • It doesn't run in the background, and asks for location "when in use" only.
  • Deleting what the app has stored doesn't cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are managed in the App Store.
